How Moss office runs on coffee, booths, and quiet conversation

Moss, a Berlin-based fintech innovator with over 200 employees, has been redefining expense and credit management across Europe. 

But when it came to navigating the return to office life post-Covid, they hit a familiar snag: noise. After months of working from the peaceful comfort of home offices, employees found the bustling energy of Moss's headquarters both invigorating and distracting. Requests for quiet zones started flooding in.

Expanding the office footprint to add more meeting rooms wasn’t an option, so Moss turned to a smarter, long-term solution – soundproof booths.

At Moss, soundproof booths are as essential as caffeine – literally second only to the coffee machine in daily use. “Everyone runs to the phone booths all the time. They’re the most-used things in the office – apart from the coffee machine,” laughs Jolanta Bochen, Office and Event Manager at Moss. And, honestly, it tracks. In a fast-paced fintech like this, the booths are survival gear.

Coming back to the office after Covid revealed a hard truth: open-plan layouts may spark collaboration, but they’re also a free-for-all of distractions. Sales teams were loudly closing deals, customer service reps were deep in calls, and quieter tasks like one-on-one conversations or focused work didn’t stand a chance. Jolanta recalls a particularly creative use case: “Our VP Chief of Staff often prefers to present all-hands meetings from a booth, even when the team is gathered in the office. The superior sound quality, noise isolation, and ability to focus make it a far better option to present a global format, so that everyone can hear everything perfectly.”

Not Persy Booths. “I’ve seen other phone booths literally fall apart, but not these,” says Jolanta, Moss’s office manager. “They’re solid, well-designed, and comfortable. Employees are happy to sit in them for 30 minutes, an hour, or even longer.”

Even more impressive is that there hasn’t been a single complaint. “In my role, that’s rare,” Jolanta laughs. “If something’s off, I hear about it immediately. With Persy Booths, there’s nothing to fix, they just work.”

Ventilation adjustments or tightening a screw here and there are all part of the booth’s lifespan. And for Jolanta, dealing with these has been stress-free. “Whenever I’ve needed maintenance, it’s been simple to organise. The Persy team is responsive, and I know they’ll get it sorted without hassle,” she shares.

Recently, Moss requested LAN connections for all their booths, a feature typically installed during manufacturing. The Persy team stepped up, retrofitting the booths onsite to save Moss from their WIFI nightmares.
